Taylen Mosley’s mother-Taylen Mosley, a two year old boy who was been reported missing after his mother was found dead in their apartment has reportedly been found dead in the jaws of an alligator.

The death of his mother Pashun Jeffery, 20, was found at their residence in St. Petersburg, Florida, on Thursday afternoon. An Amber Alert was issued for the whole state.

She had been brutally murdered on Wednesday night, and the police had described the crime scene as “extremely horrific.” Nevertheless, her son had not been found.

Thomas Mosley, 21, has been charged with the first-degree murder of both the mother and the kid because detectives now suspect that he killed both the mother and the boy.

At a news conference on Friday evening, St. Petersburg Police Chief Anthony Holloway made a statement. In an effort to discover the missing toddler, search teams, sniffer dogs, and drones were used.

A few kilometers from his residence, officers scouring Lake Maggiore discovered an alligator “with an object in its jaws,” the chief disclosed.

However, they quickly discovered it was a young child, and one officer shot the alligator to get the child’s body. The chief reported, “We were able to recover Taylen’s body intact.

Taylen’s cause of death has not been made public, and it is still unknown whether the alligator was a factor in his demise. According to NBC Miami, his mother, Jeffery has endured several stabbings.

Thomas Mosley, Taylen’s father is currently hospitalized with cuts on his hands and arms and “is not talking to us,” Holloway said. It is unclear how Mosley sustained the injuries, with police not yet revealing how they occurred.

At about 5:20 p.m. on Wednesday, Jeffery and her son were last seen outside their Lincoln Shores condominium on 4th Street North. Jeffery works at a CVS store, according to NBC Miami.

Later that evening, at about 8:30 p.m., neighbors admitted they heard a disturbance at the house but did not call the police.

When Jeffery’s mother couldn’t reach her daughter on Thursday, she grew worried and requested the apartment management to check on her and her grandson at about 2:30 p.m.

At that point, an alarm was sounded, and a homicide inquiry into the death of the boy’s mother was launched alongside the hunt for the child.

According to reports, the couple had only recently moved into the apartment building. To paraphrase Thomas, there is a with and a without.

According to Holloway, Mosley went to his mother’s residence on Wednesday night at 9 p.m. with wounds on his wrists and arms. He later checked himself into a nearby hospital, where he stayed as the hunt for his kid went on.

Yolanda Fernandez, the St. Petersburg Police spokesperson told Newsweek; “The detectives and officers of the St. Petersburg Police Department worked tirelessly on this case. The Department would like to thank all of the agencies that assisted in this investigation… Chief Holloway would also like all of the many volunteers who planned to join us Saturday morning searching for Taylen. Unfortunately, their assistance is no longer needed.”

About 600,000 individuals go missing in the United States each year, according to the National Missing and Unidentified Persons System (NamUs).

Regrettably, a large number of the missing persons are children. While some child-related searches finish positively when the kids are discovered well and unharmed, as in the instance of the six missing siblings who were discovered in Tennessee in March, other searches like the one for missing Athena Brownfield end tragically.
